Syringe Feeding
Saturday, April 5th took Nubian kids into vet. The boy was running a fever. They both got antibiotics, vitamin E and Selenium. Now they are doing terrific, they are nursing and no more trying to dribble milk down their throats and wondering if they were still going to be alive the next time I checked on them.

Nicky resting on his heating pad
Well those two kids will be a week old tomorrow, and they just haven't been doing well at all. I was feeding them a little in the hopes that I was supplementing their nursing, but have come to the conclusion that they must not be nursing at all. The boy has been the weakest, but I have moved them both into the house in a box this evening, and am feeding them around the clock. I struggled with bottles and different nipples which didn't work. The boy doesn't have any sucking reflex at all and just passively lets me syringe milk down his throat. The girl is a little bit better, I think she weighs a pound more at about 6 pounds. Hopefully tomorrow I'll see some improvement.
