Halloween

We started off the holiday with a 4H party on Monday, the 27th. Savannah couldn't attend because of a paper due the next day. Jess dressed up as a bat. We painted pumpkins, played horse apple bowling and pumpkin seed spitting contests, we decorated witches hat cookies and we had a junior master horseman lesson called "A Monster Mess, Could You Keep a Horse In Your Room?"

Bethany and Adam took Jess (bat) and Savannah (pirate) trick or treating. First they met up with Brooke, Maddy and Daniel downtown, and they wrapped up by going door to door throughout the Georgetown neighborhood.

Decision 2008

October 30, 2008

VAHS AP junior and senior English classes began over two weeks ago with everyone presenting a speech they wrote to persuade people to vote for their candidate. The top speeches were chosen to participate in this debate, with the highest graded speeches chosen to be debaters. Nathan was chosen to lead the pledge. There were two opening junior speeches, and two senior speeches each representing their party, then the junior class debated followed by the senior class. Beth represented the seniors and the democratic party. She did great!

Homecoming 2008

October 2008

After the homecoming game Savannah poses before meeting her date at the informal homecoming dance. She is a freshman and is not allowed to car date. Her date's mother (her PFD teacher) made her mum.

Adam and Beth pose before leaving for the homecoming dance. Beth was one of the finalist for homecoming queen.

New Truck Camper

October

We got this camper in Ft. Worth, funny thing was that the owner was someone Paul had gone to highschool with in Allen. We are working on replacing the floor and subfloor because it was damaged by water wicking in on a rug, but we got a good deal on it and we are really looking forward to using it. We plan on towing the horse trailer with it.

Extraction Day!

We had one nice super of cut comb honey. This was from a new, but very strong hive. We took four full supers off of five hives, and left partials on all of them for the winter. We got about 8 gallons of honey, plus the cut comb.

Chigger Hill's Hyacinth

Got into hives on Friday 7/18 after milking. It was late so we didn't have a lot of time before sundown. From the 4 new hives and 1 existing hive, I think we may get 4 supers of honey.
